The announcement was made during a party event attended by senior leaders, grassroots members, and supporters, marking the beginning of the party's preparations for what is expected to be a closely contested election.

Accepting the nomination, Fikri expressed his appreciation to the party leadership for placing its confidence in him and pledged to champion the interests of Wangsa Maju residents through inclusive and people-centred leadership.

I accept this responsibility with humility and determination. The people of Wangsa Maju deserve a representative who listens, engages, and delivers meaningful solutions to the challenges they face every day.

Fikri outlined several priorities should he be elected, including addressing the rising cost of living, improving public transportation, creating quality employment opportunities, enhancing public infrastructure, and expanding programmes that benefit youth, families, and small businesses.

He added that Wangsa Maju possesses tremendous potential to become one of Kuala Lumpur's most progressive constituencies through sustainable urban planning, stronger community engagement, and responsible governance.

Party leaders described Fikri's candidacy as part of KEADILAN's broader strategy to present a new generation of leaders with strong community engagement, fresh ideas, and a commitment to transparent governance.

In the coming weeks, Fikri is expected to embark on a series of community outreach programmes, town hall sessions, and meetings with local residents to better understand the constituency's priorities and concerns ahead of the election campaign.

Wangsa Maju is widely regarded as one of the key urban battlegrounds in Malaysia's upcoming general election, with analysts expecting intense competition among major political parties as they vie for support in the diverse parliamentary seat.

Useful chart. Would like to see the same breakdown for the electricity phase once the tariff bands are published.

The appeals process is the part that decides whether this works. Two weeks is not long enough for households without digital records.
