What data RNN collects, why, how long it is kept, and the choices available to you.

Development notice: parts of this page are boilerplate maintained by the site owner and must be replaced with verified information before public launch.

What we collect

  • Account data — name and email address when you create an RNN account or sign in with Google or Apple.
  • Reading data — bookmarks, reading history and followed topics, stored against your account so your reading list follows you between devices.
  • Measurement data — page views, scroll depth and reading time, collected first-party and only with your consent.

Signed-out readers can use the whole site. Bookmarks then stay on your device and are never sent to us.

Your choices

  • Accept or reject measurement cookies at any time from the consent banner.
  • Clear your reading history from Account settings.
  • Unsubscribe from any newsletter with one click on every issue.
  • Request a copy of your data, or its deletion, by email.

Security and retention

Reader data is stored in a managed database with row-level access rules so an account can only ever read its own records. Sessions are held in secure, HTTP-only storage and sign-in attempts are rate-limited. Reading history older than 24 months is deleted automatically.

This notice is app-owner maintained boilerplate for development. Legal wording, the data controller's identity and statutory references must be confirmed by the operator before public launch.
